The New York-based Glenn Mohr Chorale recently braved the Thanksgiving weekend flurry of traffic and congestion, bringing with them a peaceful and tranquil presentation to our home in the suburbs. This group of amateurs with a professional quality of singing performs genuinely “for the love of it”.
Taking place in our chapel on Sunday, November 27th, their Advent presentation of “Blessed Hope” filled our hearts with joyful anticipation of the glorious arrival of our savior, Jesus. Residents and their families, Little Sisters, employees, volunteers, AJJ, Advisory Board and Auxiliary gathered together and shared the uplifting choruses of this magnificent experience. Their introduction of a new arrangement of “Mary’s Little Boy Child” was well-received. The hour passed too quickly, and we hope to have them visit our home again soon!
“The performance of “Blessed Hope” by the Glenn Mohr Chorale on Sunday evening was a spiritual gift to all those in attendance! Through music, readings and dramatic interpretations of events from scripture and modern culture, the Chorale led us on a journey through the waiting and longing of Advent to the excitement and wonder of Christmas. This program was a wonderful way to begin the Christmas season and gave us all the chance to pause and reflect on this time of “Blessed Hope.” – Kathleen Ziegler, Assistant Director of Nursing
