Our New Four Legged Friends
“When I look into the eyes of an animal I do not see an animal. I see a living being. I see a friend. I feel a soul.” – A.D. Williams
We were blessed with a beautiful fall day when Cloverland Pony Rides & Petting Zoo, brought some of their animals to visit the Residents of St. Joseph’s Home. There were 2 goats, Oscar and Charming, 4 rabbits, 2 sheep and an alpaca named Frank. The zoo staff gave out little cups of food for the Residents to give to the animals. All of the four legged visitors were on their best behavior and enjoyed all of the attention given to them by their new two legged friends. Gentle hands stroked the fur of long haired rabbits, and the larger animals were very content with being petted (and the cups filled with treats!) inside the dining room the Residents were treated to donuts and apple cider. As you can see by the photos, everyone had an enjoyable afternoon.
