Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Everyone at St. Joseph’s Home was in high spirits on March 17th in anticipation of the day’s celebration. It was the first time in two years that St. Patrick’s Day was celebrated here and it was so wonderful that the Residents could finally enjoy the party together during dinner.
Of course green was the color of the day, and all of the Residents were decked out in every shade of it. The traditional meal of corned beef and cabbage was served along with homemade Irish Soda Bread. Our Pastor, Father Sean McDonnell (himself a native of County Mayo), went table to table serving Baileys Irish Cream.tm
While dinner was being served, we were visited by a bagpiper, Mr. Troy Oswald, who played some traditional Irish music. After his performance, Irish songs were put on the stereo so everyone could sing-a-long. We thank Mr. Oswald for giving of his time and talent to entertain us and making our St. Patrick’s Day Party so very special. Erin Go Bragh!
