Last Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, we were waiting for Father Manuel (Manny) Gallo, S.D.B. and students from Don Bosco Preparatory High School in Ramsey, who were to deliver the fruits of their first ever “Turkey and Ham Drop” for the benefit of St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly.
And arrive they did! Who seemed happier…those who gave, or those who received!!! The young men were so excited to be able to aid the Residents of St Joseph’s Home! After giving them a tour of our home, they met with our Centenarians (there are four!) and our other charming Aged. They saw with appreciation what can be done to help the needy when people unite for a worthy cause.
Not only did the students host a Turkey and Ham drop from their school, but they have also generously offered to give us a hand next Saturday, November 19th, for our own very first “Turkey and Ham Drop”, which coincides with our Annual Christmas Craft and Bake Sale from 10:00-4:00pm. Many of our Residents take an active part in the Arts and Craft Department and spend the year making all sorts of items for this sale, which we hope to be a great success.
We thank God for all who collaborate in many ways so that our Residents are cared for with love and appreciation.
