“May pilgrimage be an impetus to conversion: by crossing the threshold of the Holy Door, we will find the strength to embrace God’s mercy and dedicate ourselves to being merciful with others as the Father has been with us.” Pope Francis.
The Holy Father requested during this Jubilee Year of Mercy, that a Holy Door be opened in every diocese so Catholics may experience the Jubilee Indulgence of God’s mercy. In order to obtain this Indulgence, the faithful were asked to make a pilgrimage to a Holy Door. Our Little Sisters and Residents made their pilgrimage in September to the Holy Door opened at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Park Ridge, NJ.
