Togetherness Is Happiness
In September, New Jersey transitioned into more relaxed covid-19 restrictions, so preparations were made to incorporate them in our Home. Finally, the day arrived that everyone was waiting for. October 5 marked the beginning of the Residents return to their dining rooms, small group activities on their floors and celebrating Mass in the Chapel. The Residential and Skilled units rotate every other day to their respective dining rooms for the noon meal. Each person is assigned to a table where they can safely remove their masks to eat. Even though they are apart, the Residents are happy that they are now together! While at Mass or in activities, all safety protocols are in place and respected. Being out of their rooms, seeing familiar faces and enjoying conversations at a safe distance, has meant the world to the Residents. This is just the start of what we are all praying for, a return to normal daily routines. We look forward to when we can open up to indoor family visits. Keep praying!
The Little Sisters and staff are tested weekly at great cost, about $100 per person, to make sure that St. Joseph’s Home remains covid-free. We thank you all for your generous support and heartfelt prayers. Stay safe and well!
