Honoring Our Generous Benefactors
Over the past few months St. Joseph’s Home has been blessed with an outpouring of kindness and generosity and we would like to recognize everyone who came to our aid.
Our most immediate is for food and cleaning supplies. Devoted Knights of Columbus Councils and our good neighbors, the Passaic Valley Elks, as well as many friends and family members, have been delivering food, assorted supplies and sending in store gift cards. Local clubs, parish associations and schools have also given as service and community outreach projects. Foundations came through with generous grant gifts and individuals also gave monetary gifts to purchase food. Parishes in the Paterson and Newark Dioceses have done wonders for us, reaching out to their parishioners on our behalf by posting our list of much needed items to their websites. A special mention goes out to the donors who gave specifically to treat all of the Residents to several pizza suppers and to those who gave to buy our hard working employees dinner. Donated cleaning supplies and wipes were also a big help as they are often hard to come by.
The next most important was for personal protective equipment. The FBI Newark CAAA and a local pharmaceutical company collectively donated thousands of N95 masks, gloves and a very generous donor purchased medical gowns for us while the NJ State Nurses Association, Region #1 gave money to purchase PPE. In addition to so many people making masks, individuals have also dropped off boxes of masks and gloves too.
Even though times are tough for them, our regular businesses are still making regular donations. Their devotion and commitment to St. Joseph’s Home is blessing. The Little Sisters and the Residents offer our heartfelt thanks to everyone who supports St. Joseph’s Home – by praying for you and your loved ones to stay safe and well, during Mass and when saying the Rosary every day.
Until there is some relief from the coronavirus restrictions, we will still be in need of cleaning supplies and non-perishable food. We are now doing NJ State mandated Covid-19 testing weekly, which is costing the Home approximately $10,000 per week. If you would like to help us out, click on “Donate Here” for monetary gifts or go to News & Events for a list of the items we need. We would sincerely appreciate anything that you could do for us.
God bless all of you!
