We recently celebrated the 90th birthday of Resident Father Bob Scott, CSP -and what a celebration it was! His friends from near and far came in droves to express their love and appreciation for this wonderful Paulist Priest. Father Bob’s ministry has always been as Chaplain for the Catholic Center at various Universities across the country. He recently retired from the University of Texas at Austin; previous assignments include: UCLA, the University of Tenessee, and Marshall University in West Virginia.
His nickname comes from a recurring theme he has preached and lived throughout his lifetime:There are many good stops in life – enjoy them! And participating in Mass, he affirms, is the best stop. It is very obvious from his demeanor and the unanimous and numerous testimonies, that Father Bob has shown many people that one’s whole life can be a good stop – when it is filled with kindness. In his homily on his birthday, Father Bob said that he has made many good stops in life and that he is fairly sure that St. Joseph’s Home will be his last but that it is a very, very good stop for him.
