
More than 100 people- members of the Auxiliary of the Little Sisters of the Poor and their guests-enjoyed an “Afternoon with Martha MacCallum” from 2PM to 5 PM on Sunday, February 26th.The event took place at St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly and was sponsored by the Auxiliary.
Martha MacCallum, co-anchor of America’s Newsroom on the Fox News Network, gave insights into the coming presidential election and spoke about her own background, concentrating on her eight years with Fox. A lively question and answer period followed the talk. Ms. MacCallum is the daughter of Betty MacCallum, an Auxiliary member.
Light refreshments were served and musical entertainment was provided by the band, Masterpiece. Guests danced and enjoyed the music. Joe Caroselli, who heads the band, served as MC and provided a brief history on Martha MacCallum before introducing her to a fascinated audience.
Elaine Abbate, Auxiliary President, welcomed guests and acknowledged everyone who helped to make this event a success, thanking Auxiliary members, Carol, the Dietary Manager, and the kitchen and housekeeping staff at St. Joseph’s Home. Mother Margaret Charles was introduced and said a few words, thanking all who came. It was a wonderful afternoon!
