A New Years’ Celebration

All the Residents of the Home had their New Year’s hats on, adorned with sparkles and colors.  Everyone was so happy, smiling with stars in their eyes. The music was delightful for dancing. Throughout the night we had ages 8 to nearly 88 taking a turn on the dance floor.

Mother Margaret let the Residents choose their favorite drink to toast 2012 coming in on such a happy note. Mother is so very hospitable, not only to all the Residents, but also to all the visitors that came as well. The delicious food was prepared and served with great care by staff and volunteers alike.

The time to celebrate the New Year is the magic hour of midnight however, there truly was magic at St. Joseph’s because, at the stroke of 7:00 o’clock, we counted down and celebrated with abundant joy. Mother even had a sparkling “Waterford Crystal” ball that was lowered at the “magic” midnight!

The Sisters virtue, that shines brighter than all the New Year sparkles in the world, is that of LOVE!  Every one of the Sisters shows such love and devotion to the Residents.  There is such beauty in the Sisters as they share their exceptional gifts with all they encounter.

Needless to say…everyone had a “Happy New Year”!

May 2012 bring health, happiness, and peace to the Little Sisters, Residents, Staff, Volunteers, and Visitors.
