People volunteer at St. Joseph’s Home for many reasons but common among them all is their dedication to sharing their time and talent in support of the Residents and the Little Sisters.
But in early October, Zoey, a 13 year old Border Collie mix, paid a visit to St. Joseph’s. Gentle and affectionate by nature Zoey was immediately a big hit with all she met. This included the Little Sisters, the staff, the volunteers and most importantly the Residents. Zoey calmly greeted each Resident seeking only to be pet. She brought smiles to everyone that day. Many of our Residents were former dog owners. Dogs are indeed “man’s best friends.”
Mother Margaret Charles bestowed her the title of “honorary volunteer” and extended an open invitation for her to visit in the future. We hope she comes again soon.
