Mildred T. Rolls “I first met the Little Sisters at their Home in Newark. I was so impressed with the work and dedication the Sisters had for the elderly. I wanted to be a part of the Auxiliary and had to wait to be invited to join; that was in 1980. I have been a member for 30 years, and it has been a joy! The Sisters are so kind to the elderly. They are an inspiration and exemplify the love that God has for all of us in the Auxiliary.”
Elaine Abbate “I met an associate member of the Auxiliary and was invited to join. After seeing the Home, and how wonderful the Sisters are to the elderly poor, I felt committed to helping. I have been a member for about five years.”

“This is my seventh year as a member of the Auxiliary. I believe very strongly in the good and loving work of the Little Sisters. I feel blessed to be able to do my small part to assist the Sisters financially through our organization.”

“As a member of the Auxiliary I have been privileged to work with and for the Little Sisters of the Poor—the most caring and loving caretakers of the elderly. Another wonderful advantage of being part of the Auxiliary is meeting so many great women who have become good friends, as well as co-workers. Hopefully our contributions have helped the Little Sisters in their mission.”
The original and continued purpose of the Auxiliary, founded in 1910 by the late Mrs. John P. Agnew, has been to give financial aid to the Good Sisters. Their self-sacrifice and dedication is their gift to God, and the work of each Auxiliary Member is their sharing in this dedication. A member joins only because she wants to help and because the cause is well worth every effort she may make.
A record of over 100 years of successful achievement is enviable, particularly since it has been arrived at in such a friendly and amicable environment by members both living and deceased.
May we continue to carry out the work so nobly begun so long ago.
The Auxiliary begins each meeting with the following Prayer, which express the devotion shared by its members:
May the power of the Father
Govern and protect us;
May the wisdom of the Son
Teach and enlighten us;
May the love of the Holy Spirit
Renew and quicken us;
May the blessing of the all Holy Trinity
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
Be with us now and forever more.
Amen.
St. Joseph, Protector of the Little Sisters,
Pray for us.
